Unit B opened its doors in a small apartment in May of 2002 in the East Pilsen neighborhood of Chicago. An arts district by nature, the gallery had monthly exhibits on the Second Friday's of each month along with several artist-run spaces within a stones throw (1R Gallery, Bucket Rider Gallery, Drive Thru Studios, Jesus Chrysler Gallery, and gallery 645, to name a few)--the birth of what is now referred to as The Chicago Arts District.
In January 0f 2006, the gallery re-opened in the duplex apartment across the street from the compound and Sala Diaz in San Antonio, Texas and is happy as can be. Since its Chicago incarnation in 2002, Unit B has exhibited over 200 artists and curators in 48 group exhibitions and 4 art fairs.
